Our trip to Woolsthorpe Manor

What a great day we had when we went to visit Isaac Newton's home in Woolsthorpe!

We saw the tree under which he sat and discovered gravity by watching the apples fall. We watched a film about it too.

We saw Isaac Newton's home and went inside with Rebecca. We compared all the old things and materials to our present day ones.

In a History/Science workshop, we looked at old materials compared to new ones. Mum's washing basket doesn't look like this!

Can wire bend? Spaghetti? Straw?

We went to the Science Workshop with Alan. We looked at forces and gravity with pendulums, balls and bells. Some of us were clockers, some swingers!

We found out some amazing things about colour!  What did we look like in the funny mirrors!

We had lunch and went to the shop.

Thank you to Mia, David, Alan, and Rebecca and their helpers for a memorable day! We learnt so much about old homes, old and modern materials, gravity, light and colour.
