Our trip to Woolsthorpe Manor

What a great day we had when we went to visit Isaac Newton's home in Woolsthorpe!

We saw the tree under which he sat and discovered gravity by watching the apples fall. We watched a film about it too.

We saw Isaac Newton's home and went inside with Rebecca. We compared all the old things and materials to our present day ones.

In a History/Science workshop, we looked at old materials compared to new ones. Mum's washing basket doesn't look like this!

Can wire bend? Spaghetti? Straw?

We went to the Science Workshop with Alan. We looked at forces and gravity with pendulums, balls and bells. Some of us were clockers, some swingers!

We found out some amazing things about colour!  What did we look like in the funny mirrors!

We had lunch and went to the shop.

Thank you to Mia, David, Alan, and Rebecca and their helpers for a memorable day! We learnt so much about old homes, old and modern materials, gravity, light and colour.

Children in Need

Wow, did we have alot of fun to raise money for Children in Need on Friday!

We came to school in our pyjamas! Look at us! What do you think?

Revels (YR)

 Wispas (Y1)

Toblerones (Y2)

We coloured in some pictures of Pudsey and problem solved for Pudsey in Maths. The big ones in Class 3 helped us to put our coppers in a coin trail. We loved watching Class 2 do a Children in Need Dance in Celebrations Assembly.

What a great day! We hope that we raised lots of money for children who are not as fortunate as us.

Harvest Time

We got our food ready to take to Church to give to the Nomad Trust.

We went to our St. Mary's Church for the Harvest Service. The Church looked beautiful with all the flowers. Class 1 sang the Thank You song. We made up our own words and thanked God for the sun and rain, farmers, food and Harvest Time. Our big Y6 monitors sang with us in the front pew.

We enjoyed watching Class 2 and 3 sing their songs and say their poems. We loved our Harvest Service!

Our Gardening Club entered our 3 biggest pumpkins into the Annual Village Pumpkin Competition. The biggest weighed 20.9 kilos and came 13th in the competition. Our best effort to date!!

Buildings and crops

We've been designing and making our homes out of big bricks, lego and wooden blocks in the sand.

Lots of talking, thinking, trying our plans out.

Are we all happy with how things are going?

                                                                We are!!

I think I am!

We've also picked the last of our crops.

Look at the size of these apples! They are eating ones too!

All is good at home and in the garden!!
